Since Moonbeam was announced in April 2020, the development team has been hard at work to meet engineering milestones and deliver on the stated project goals.

In the first six months following the announcement, the team has delivered a working Ethereum-compatible TestNet, called Moonbase Alpha, and been awarded a Web3 Foundation grant for their work building a Web3 RPC for the Frontier projects.

Moonbeam combines the best of both worlds: the familiar and easy-to-use tooling of Ethereum and the scalable, interoperable architecture of Polkadot.
